Chernobyl Zone of Alienation - 5 days in the cold - Winter 2018

The three of us are crouched, huddled on the icy roof of apartment block number 15, watching the sharp torch beams of the Ukrainian police department scan the buildings of Lenina Avenue, downtown Pripyat.

I'm not sure if they are looking for us, or are just beginning a routine patrol of the city but our earlier close call has me expecting the former.

A distant guard dogs bark bites through the frozen air as I light another cigarette and wait....

Hey All, Im moving to Cambridge next month and and making headway into the research side of things. Myself and @Torch the porch monkey will likely be heading out lid lifting over this and the next few summers and will be keeping a close eye on various upcoming underground infrastructure projects also.

So if anyone is in the area, isn't opposed to a bit of poo on their wad0rz (Combined System) and has no problem whacking on a high vis and lifting some lids. Giz a shout.

Before anyone says anything about the name being a code or something it is actually called Thatched Cottage :D First report on this place I believe.

Drove past this randomly so decided to check it out, not a great deal of info on it but I believe it’s been empty since 2017.

Was a beautiful little cottage with a huge garden, can imagine it was very picturesque.
Inside was pretty trashed to be honest, more natural decay with damp patterns in one room that I’ve never seen before literally...

I don't have a huge amount of information about this place sadly, I could only find a few snippets. Stags Holt Farm is located just outside the town of March in Cambridgeshire and in it's former life was somewhat of a local tourist destination, it was home to numerous rare breed farm animals but sadly it's out-of-the-way location down small roads meant it was too remote for most people on a day trip. It closed a few years back and is currently home to numerous barn owls which is why...

known about this one for a while and decided to have a look, we had a look around for any entrances and found a gate that was open just enough to squeeze through into the back of the airport . first we had a look in some outbuildings that were heavily vandalized, still, some very old computer stuff lying around, strangely enough,we found about 15 hard drives all smashed up outside the building.

Nosey old trespasser in love with Scotland

Hi
I stumbled across the website Googling 'urbex', which I didn't know was a thing with a name. I've been doing it all my life: gun emplacements when I was a kid in South Devon, empty houses when I was a squatter in London - and since, everywhere, always hoping they might be for sale (for a pittance), or just plain nosey and interested. The first time I ever went abroad my mum and I went for a day trip to Calais - and we ended up exploring an old house with great floor length gilded...

I arrived in Plymouth this September, and have since been on a fair few night-time walks to explore without managing to find anything much more interesting than multi-storey carparks. However, I'm very much interested in getting involved in the local urbex community, making friends and learning about the hobby in general. If you're from the area or have any general newbie advice, please give me a shout!

Haven’t seen any posts for this place on here which surprises me as I know there’s been a lot of exploring activity going on there from speaking to other explorers.
Police are also extremely hot on this location too, When I first went to check it out it had been boarded up literally within a couple hrs of someone I know being in there. After a couple of weeks I got the heads up it was open again, so headed straight over to check it out.
Bit of history on the place, it’s a grade 2 listed...

Just another old derpy Manor House... The only reason why me and my boyfriend explored this place again was because we was driving past it and it felt rude to not have a 20 minute quick mooch around... The explore was relaxing and calm. History and planning permissions on this is very thin.... however thanks to a couple of threads on here I managed to find out that during the war this was taken over by the RAF and shortly burnt out. It was subsequently rebuilt with modern materials which can...

I discovered this building a few months ago whilst visiting the nearby train graveyard, but at that time it was sealed shut.

As I was passing by again last week, I thought I'd give it another look.. and we got in.

It's full name was the Centre de Formation d'Apprentis which was a type of technical college specializing in bakery, pastry, butcher, deli-caterer, hairdresser, kitchen, florist, room service and sales sectors. There were around 30 teachers and 380 students.

My personal...

Another derpy drug house in Sussex.... I got this location off a friend who lives in Arundel a long time ago.... I got told the house became abandoned in December 2015. The house was fully furnished with personal belongings inside. Sadly when we got there some kind of gang decided to claim it... The first time I ever went here, as soon as we went in we heard noises.... it sounded like there was a gang of men upstairs so we dashed out... A couple months later me and my boyfriend went here...

The hospital dealt with patients with ADHD and I believe it was left abandoned in 2017.
I have heard that planning permission has been approved but not overly certain when that is actually going to take place.

The Tan Hill Inn. The highest pub in the UK, and one of the finest: coal fires, superbly kept Old Peculiar, stone floors and low ceilings. Miles from anywhere at the head of Arkengarthdale, just off the Pennine Way, and a great place to stay. Mountain biking through the bleak expanses of Cotherstone Moor, Arkengarthdale Moor, Bowes Moor, and Stainmore Forest was the order of this late November weekend – and we were pretty much guaranteed to have the landscape to ourselves. Over a pint of two...

Browns Folly Stone Mine

History

Browns Folly Mine is an average sized Bath Stone quarry which was originally part of Monkton Farleigh Mine however when the War Department
converted part of the quarry in to an ammunitions store they separated part of the quarry which is the area now known as Browns Folly.

Browns Folly Mine is an SSSI (Special Site of Scientific Interest) because of its national importance for hibernating and roosting bats. Brown's Folly is a tower...

Lovely place this, sitting on the bank of the river Thames, The Upper Reaches used to be an old water mill, the original wheel for it is incorporated inside what used to be the restaurant, I’ve found a pic of this along with a couple of others of what it looked like when it was open. Haven’t seen any reports for here on the forum so I believe it’s the first one.

It’s completely surrounded by water and you go over a little bridge to get to it. We checked it out in daylight but had to go...

So I wanted to do a separate report on each of the different sites located in this industrial estate, however a majority of the buildings were empty shells.
So I've pretty much sorted all my best pictures from my SD card on the various sites around the estate.
I believe there was a total of 5 to 6 companies situated in this area which included
Tees Valley Coaches
Logistcs inc
CraiB Transport Limited
Inbond LTD
I've done a bit of research of the area but didn't find much, I know that the...
