Moreton (wirral) abandoned computer factory

The explore:
We found this old factory local to us by chance, fairly simple to enter. Not entirely sure of the history. Houses next door to each entrance, factory is located behind the houses.

Seems to have been an old computer parts storage warehouse, most of the parts being from 1980ish and being AMSTRAD. Fairly cool building. Lots of interesting bits around that to anyone in the know would probably be fascinating.
Its also quite easy to get up onto the roof and feels sturdy.

The Estate was originally created by James Gardiner who acquired the property in 1865 on his return to England from the East Indies. The development of the property was based upon a large principal residence in the classic style and landscaped parkland laid out by the renowned Humphrey Repton. Charles Howard acquired the estate in 1898 and a stud complex was added to the property to support the Howard family interest of breeding and racing horses. The stud produced many high...

History

As of December 2017, the Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are responsible for following up with all ADHD and ASD patients in the area, meaning that several wards of St Peter’s Hospital are now desolate. Hayworth House is on of many wards that are boarded up, including St Peter’s Morgue (which I finally got into as well). Planning permission was accepted earlier this year and plans for staff accommodation and a multi story car park...

Visited with @tonymini145

Note to anyone interested in going - Police are on high alert, have seen 2 groups taken away in handcuffs to date, vans are moving in daily removing items from the house. Nothing left to see, but with the new 28dl site rules guess you have to expect that

History
The building is listed with a small write up, but nothing much apart from an artist Charles Robertson living...

Wellllll, I have lurked in the background for ages and not posted much anywhere. So I suppose I should maybes start adding some stuff on here. from my 15 years of exploring. This will be the first of a few over the next few days. This was one from just recently.

A number of visits were made to this place. A fantastic Victorian era beauty of a hospital in the south side of Glasgow. A central block flanked by Nightingale Wards (which have been kept for conversion) and an A&E...

I know there have been a LOT of reports on here for Hayworth House, but strangely I've not seen any photos from the other buildings on site. So I thought I would post a few.

Access is very easy for all except one, which took us a while to work out.

Enjoy the pics :-)

Have been to safari house today with my partner and due to the damage caused to the property and contents the owners have put a gate up to try and stop entry plus blocked the way into the house. It was sad to see what had been done to it but also a very exciting experience as well
I’m pleased that I have now done this and can tick it off the list of places to go.
If the House has been treated with a little more respect by some of the previous explorers maybe the owners wouldn’t be so...

After intense studying on Google and a few hints I finally worked out where this location was.
I'm not going to do a full report on the place as it's been done many times before.
What I will say is please don't pass on the location because after our visit today it has become clear that the owners are getting fed up with people going in and trashing the place. What happened to proper urbexers and respecting property!.
We arrived and there was a big private notice on the gate saying to keep...

Background:

The Frome Tunnels, lying underneath the Somerset town of Frome, appeared as a lead on this forum in April 2012. Posted by paulpowers the lead caused a bit of excitement with several members of this forum stating that this was going onto their to-do list. From the same posting it looks as if member paulpowers entered the tunnels in October 2013 - but there was no report and no photos. Well for the first time here are some photos.
Thanks to paulpowers for the original lead...

1. The History
The earliest parts of this mill date back to 1822. These were extended in 1827. The owners, Joseph and George Hinchcliff, took raw wool and processing it into spun yarn. By the end of the Crimean War in 1856, the Hinchliff's were starting to experience difficulties running the business, and by 1873, James Watkinson had moved into this mill. At the start of the James Watkinson’s tenure comes the first episode of some significant industrial strike action with 40 of...

So like me, I assume you thought that the site that once housed the mighty and ruined British Xylonite/Wardle Storeys factory in Brantham was now devoid of anything of interest, right? Well, like me, you thought wrong. Whilst the BX site is long gone, there are parts of the adjacent still active works which are derelict and abandoned, and have been for years. Parts of them were done by @Speed a number of years back however since his post it would appear various bits...

I have seen many reports of this place in various places but here is my recent visit. It is looking pretty empty and a fire has caused damage to the floor so certain areas I avoided walking on. Photos are taken with my phone as i didn't take my camera.

1. The History
Hermitage Mill is built close to the waters of the River Maun which runs alongside the it. Built as a cotton mill in standstone and three storeys high (with basement), it was at first part of the Unwin family's many business...

Lovely little explore yesterday with @Craigwow87 this house is a total gem but unfortunately I’ve been unable to find any history on it whatsoever, though I’m still trying!
Lost count of the amount of bedrooms and bathrooms there were, not sure what it was used for as there was another kitchenette on the second floor, and two safes one of which was huge so may have been a business at some point?
It had an impressive wine cellar space, sauna room, tennis courts, swimming...

Mierystock Tunnel

The Explore

Mireystock is a lovely little tunnel and is one of my favourites as it has a very high eliptical shape throughout. It has some interesting calcite deposits in a couple of places and has a nice bend in it about halfway along. A great way to spend a chilled afternoon with camera and friends.

Photo's taken over a few different visits but the majority are from Jan of this year.

History
June 1872 witnessed Cardiff...
