My Visit
this post has really taken a battering in the last few years. having previously been one of the best preserved posts in the south this post was rather disappointing to have seen that it has gone so down hill. someone has seemingly set fire to a number of cushions in the far back corner of the post, spreading burn damage throughout. a number of artefacts were still in place when we...

ROC Post restoration Project

Hi all
I am currently restoring an ROC Post within the south of England, however i am hesitant to confirm which just yet due to complication which could ultimately work against me. i have been working to source 100% original items from posts around the country with the consent of the landowners to display in ours. this is proving to be progressively more and more expensive especially for someone within a younger age category as it costs £3 a time to track down a landowner and then approach...

Looking for other explorers (Birmingham)

Hi so my friend and I enjoy urban exploring and we have found a good place for beginners or people looking to just get a feel for what urban exploring/photograpy is like. The spot is in birmingham and it consists of a few run down buildings and lots of random shit like abandoned trucks and a tonne of random other junk all in 1 space and I of course don't want to give too much info away here so send me a pm if you are interested at all! We figure it's much more fun with more people. We are...

Headlands Hotel @ Port Gaverne, Port Issac.

Closed 2010. After 22 years the owners decided to retire and sell up. Even when it was open it was a very outdated hotel. Approx 2013 an application was submitted to knock down and build new hotel. As with all these types applications they seem to have stalled.

The hotel was also used to film several scenes for the program Doc Martin, filmed mainly in Port Issac.

Building is in a very poor state of repair.

Stretching 2997 yards under the Northamptonshire countryside, I couldn't turn down a chance to peer into the black hole before it is developed into a wind tunnel for the motor industry. Was only allowed afew metres inside due to roosting bats but had a good look and was told about their plans to create one of if not the best wind tunnel in Europe. Afterwards we took a slight detour to go and locate Catesby viaduct. Anyway.... here's some pics.

Ince B Power Station

Another hidden piece of CEGB history tucked away in some modern industry. Unfortunately, don´t expect any kind of Tilbury A or Winnington B with the control room and what´s left, it´s a lot more modern and a lot more empty, but I definitely enjoyed a lengthy wander around the remaining buildings. I'm sure I´m not the only one that can appreciate late 50s and 60s features in an industrial setting.

This has been an obsession for a while now as there are a few burns brooks shucks or rills in my town. these are ordered largest to smallest these are Milltown Burn , Largantogher Brook , Millburn Mill Race , Glynn Brook , Silverhill Brook , Beaver Brook , Lost Brook and a few unnamed trickles of water.

MILLTOWN BURN
Milltown Burn is the largest river in my town. It rises 4 miles above maghera in the mountains and flows quickly down towards the town. My uncle lives right beside it at an old...

The post at Burscough was recently giving a bit of a tidy up and then went on sale for around £20000.
It sold in a matter of days and the new owners plan to fully restore it.

To be honest, we thought this one was long gone like the similar sites in it's close vicinity. Therefore, when it cropped up suddenly, we made sure to get it done because there is a quickly disappearing amount of abandoned power stations in England.

Lostock Power Station

Bowman, Thompson & Co. originally owned the site, but it was sold to Brunner Mond in 1990. With a seven year closure the site was reconstructed, afterwards producing sixty tonnes of soda ash a day. This figure later...

Crazy place today, so much fun with the crew @Darnitbarnett and @Benjames !!

Explored this plan graveyard sort of thing with private jets, holiday planes and those small kind flying things. Don't know names and not googling it, I'm lazy in that genre.

By now if you read my reports, you know I don't have history as I seem to be terrible in that area of expertise! Explore was quite chilled and easy going. Security was fairly nice and looked like...

HISTORY
Temple Mine is situated in the picturesque Rheidol Valley Gorge in Mid Wales.

There are three levels, the two upper ones cut the stope after a short distance but the false flooring has long since disappeared onto the floor of the No. 1 Adit. The remaining parts of the upper adits can be accessed from the shaft chamber of the No. 1 Adit by roping up.

Nos. 2 and 3 Adits - the higher two - were driven in 1877 as drifts along Pryce's Lode. No. 2 replaced No. 1 as the main...

Soooo another little report. Drove over on a frosty morn to check out this hospital. Now this place is fenced off really badly BUT has some impressive cameras dotted about. We got there and strolled unknowingly past the security cabin with no one to be seen after we noticed it. Its a large place with large open ground. We could not get access inside and had been adivsed from research online its alarmed so never forced entry - wouldn't anyway!!!! So we were left to crack the drones up and...

I visited this site in February this year after previously being unable to gain entry. I have heard and read accounts of other explorers gaining entry in the years previous when it was in immaculate condition; it then appears after an attempted arson attack the building along with the neighbouring hospital were extremely well secured with steel plates and an unhealthy amount of anti-vandal paint at the beginning of 2017. The building then remained untouched for a year until we gained entry...

Just a few pictures and a little history of the Quaker Oats factory in southall as it stands in feb 2019.

One of the most successful ventures in the southall area belonged to Quaker Oats, which built a factory in Southall in 1936.

Part of the operation was sold to Spiller's in 1994 and the remainder to Big Bear Group in 2006. The site is still standing to this day. The last thing to produced on this site was popular cereals like Sugar Puffs.
Thanks for reading...
