Thames Valley University - Slough - March 2018

An unexpectedly good mooch, which from the outside looked like a dreary empty office block.

History

Thames Valley University or TVU is part of the University of West London and formed part of several campuses in Reading and West London. The closure of the Campus was announced in 2009 and the doors finally closed in 2010, where the site fell into disuse and 1000 students had to re-locate to other campuses around West London.

Closure was put down to the recession/credit crunch...

In 1858 work started on the branch line that was to run from Barnt Green via Alvechurch to Redditch. The Redditch Railway Company (later to be taken over by the Midland Railway) constructed the first four and a half miles of track linking Redditch to the main station at Barnt Green. On the 19th of September 1859, passenger services started running to Redditch, with freight services starting on the 1st of October.

Hello all,

Me and a few friends managed to hit a few of London's skyscraper's this weekend. All in all it was an insane night that ended in a police chase across London which is what i call a good end to the night. I have not disclosed the location of any of the buildings for obvious reasons. I hope you guys enjoy the shots i have included below ;)

Thanks for reading ☺️

So I know this one has been reported on to death and that there are far better images of the place on here than mine but I was adamant I was going to visit Talgarth. I won't bore you with repeated history.

I'd heard some rumours about the dreaded security guard in a white van but thought nothing of it. Unfortunately I found out that this dude (I named him Derek) was all too real and though he was actually a self appointed security guard/neighbour of the site, this little old gent was like...

Hi Folks :)

Had these pics for a while, taken last summer, Tried to find some history on this place but no luck so far! :(

It is a place I often saw in the distance off track from walking my dog to the nearby woods but never explored it due to the noise of a very loud/large dog beasty which was presumably on site near the small green hut located at the lower entrance!

On this particular day, the air was quiet and armed with my own trusty alarm system (my sneaky Jack...

I know this place has been done to death over the years on these forums, but I thought I would post this report firstly because it seems that nobody to date has reported on the food hall and avaries and secondly I have some very serious and sad news to announce.

With much regret and considerable sorrow, I am sorry to announce to the good people of 28DL that sometime between July 2014 and October 2014 the home of Mr Blobby has been demolished :(

I am aware that I am meant to post a...

Visited this place 3 times now and it just keeps giving n giving . found 3 little tunnels so far , all of which i've explored .. there is allegedly 3 or possibly 4 more tunnels of much greater length to be explored IF they are still accessible . Project was abandoned in about 1920 and the site was briefly used as a training ground for the army during WW2 . the condition of the tunnels is SUPERB, cant believe they are 100 or so years old. no bats live in these but there are a few butterflies...

This spot was recommended to us by a few fellow explorers while exploring Whitchurch! So glad they did as after a scour of google maps we found the site relatively easily and as far as access goes it was very easy.
History -
This place has an amazing history that would have definitely made it an even more interesting explore had I not only learnt about after I got home and started reading up on it. Opened in 1925 it acted as a refuge for young sons of coal miners...

Visited with Weeble. A somewhat rainy day, so we didn’t really worry about external shots, especially as this place has been widely covered before. Not the most inspiring of explores, but good fun to play around with some lighting and practicing with some different effects. I know they’re not to everyone’s tastes here, but I though I’d try and give this place a slightly different perspective from the other reports.

Towards the end of the eighteenth century England was at war...

Soooo another little report. Drove over on a frosty morn to check out this hospital. Now this place is fenced off really badly BUT has some impressive cameras dotted about. We got there and strolled unknowingly past the security cabin with no one to be seen after we noticed it. Its a large place with large open ground. We could not get access inside and had been adivsed from research online its alarmed so never forced entry - wouldn't anyway!!!! So we were left to crack the drones up and...

Being bored lately I was flicking through my photo albums, or as close as you can get to that on a computer and thought I had more stuff stashed away from my foreign jaunts that isn't necessarily 'epic' or 'amazing' but certainly worthy of being seen. Much like my attitude over here, I am happy to see pretty much anything within reason when over there as many times its the little bonus places and smaller explores that add something else to the journey.

ODEON Cinema - Northend, Portsmouth.

I'm a photography addict and am fairly new to Urban Exploration. I find it so interesting to see history of places you either visited as a child or places so old like WW2 shelters.

Me and a friend decided to visit the old Abandoned Odean Cinema in Portsmouth, our hometown. Entry to the grounds isn't particularly difficult, just a jump over a tall wall then down through lots of thorns, nettles and old barb wire...
