Milford Mill Derbyshire - Feb 2019

This site has been done a hell of a lot I know but thought we’d check it out as it’s only a short drive away.

Stolen History as always:
Milford was named for its river-crossing, on an ancient route from Derby to the Peak district. The power of the Derwent was used from medieval times to run a corn-mill, dying and fulling mills, and iron and scythe forges. Jedediah Strutt, a farmer turned hosier, recognised the potential of the site. Inventor of the Derby rib machine, Strutt owned...

About a year ago the Former Royal Mail building on Caversham Road in Reading was vacated by Network Rail who used the building just after the Royal Mail moved out.
The building and land has been sold to a developer and the buildings are now sitting derelict and waiting for demolition.

This one must be hit up before its gone.

There is 2 buildings on the site the Sorting Offices and The Main Office.

History (www.dailymail.co.uk)
Silverlands was originally built in 1814 by Surrey brewer Robert Porter, before being largely rebuilt by its second owner Vice Admiral Sir Henry Hotham.
The three storey home was extended by its third owner Sir John Brunner, who lived here between 1907-8 and 1919, and was believed to have added the grand Neo-Georgian panelled entrance lobby and library.
It became home to the Actors...

Ivy Manor Farm Hampole - Feb 2019

Quick explore around this one as it’s quite small, got a few pictures though and the car was nice. The history is interesting though:

The gothic manor is located in the village of Hampole, near Doncaster. The building dates back to the early 19th century, although some parts of the house are thought to be much older. Known as both 'Manor House' and 'Ivy Farm Manor', it belonged to psychiatrist Neil Silvester who practiced at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. He shot into the news in 1991...

History

The Former Bayer CropScience site is located on the outskirts of Hauxton. Since the 1940s the site was used for the production of agrochemicals including pesticides and herbicides. The majority of the site was demolished in 2010, having been sold off for development purposes.

It wasn't smooth sailing though. The effect that the decades of production had on the ground and water table was was immense and led to claims by some that this was one of the 'most polluted sites in...

I visited this one with @Choo Choo m8ty, one cold weekend afternoon.

I didn’t really know what to expect with this one having only see one other report from @little_ boy_explores. The building is in fairly good condition complete with running water and no graffiti in sight. Built in 1947 as a drill hall for the Second Volunteer Battalion, West Riding Regiment and later used as the offices for the textile company...

Hi all
I am currently restoring an ROC Post within the south of England, however i am hesitant to confirm which just yet due to complication which could ultimately work against me. i have been working to source 100% original items from posts around the country with the consent of the landowners to display in ours. this is proving to be progressively more and more expensive especially for someone within a younger age category as it costs £3 a time to track down a landowner and then approach...

My visit
This post took absolutely forever to find and a lot of asking about. originally being reported as being demolished this post was located and recognised as being extant in 2008 however the grid reference was never corrected. I wont publicly post the new grid reference as I would be concerned about the effect it may have on the little area the post is located in but i will say subbrits is well over...

So as we all know, there’s a few houses here that are pretty impressive but this one is my favourite. Had my eye on it for a year and took the plunge and explored with @cjexplores and Alex. Good fun. I think 8 beds in total plus 3 kitchens, sauna, 4 lounges, a pool, glass conservatory and staff quarters.

Some gorgeous bathrooms and the pool was 18 foot deep. Not too sure about the mirrored doors though.

Belonged to a member of the Saudi Royal Family ( aren’t they all...

Denbigh Asylum is a place I've wanted to visit for quite a while even before i really got into urban exploring i was told about it by a friend who said it was really amazing, unfortunately by the time i got around to going to visit there has been a few fires, the most recent being april 2018 which really boils my blood, cannot understand why people feel the need to burn down places like this or anywhere at all for that matter but oh well i visited anyway.
The security here was none existent...

This is my 2nd visit to Pinner Stone Mine & I took my son who appears to have got into exploring.... My first vist consisted of going in both entry points and as far as the first passageway only.
This time we was in a good 2 hours and on our arrival there was 6 youths making their way out, had a good chat, they'de been in 15 minutes and claimed to have walked all the way round... Hmmnnnn .
On this journey my intention was to go in one way and come out the other without doing the same...

History:

There is very little history on this place, it doesn't even exist on an OS map., I spotted it 11 years ago when I was biking in the forest and I have been back many times since. The room with the bunk beds has a fantastic green decay. There is loft space with more artifacts but no easy access. As I was on my own, I didn't fancy going up there without a leggy. I assume that it was a youth hostel of some kind, it has 6 downstairs rooms - a kitchen, 2 large living/social type rooms, a...

First off a big thanks to @Giymo85 for their good helpful advice on this site.

History

The school opened in 1964. In 2011, the school merged with Berry Hill High School to become St Peter’s Academy. At first, the new school operated from two sites, but in 2013 St Peter’s Academy moved to a new £22 million building. The old high school closed in 2013, but was used for a time by pupils at Sutherland Primary Academy following the discovery of asbestos at their...

1. The History
Reins Mill is located in the Yorkshire town of Honley, just outside Huddersfield. The three-storey mill was built in 1847. Textile mills like this one have been making cloth in Honley since the 11th Century. It was initially occupied by Charles Dean in 1866. A year later Dean started in partnership with John Hey which lasted until Hey’s retirement in 1883. By 1889, Joseph Dean, son of the original founder, started at the company and it became known as Charles...

Safari House, also known as Artists House and Glitterball House.

Hard to find, hidden off an old road, impassable by car and invisible to Google’s aerial view.

I have never seen so many squirrels. There must of been 20 just on each tree. All looking at me, squealing like the sound of a dog, throwing twigs at me. All looking like if I made the wrong move they would pounce and attack me. When in the house they was running up and down the walls on the outside and over the roof. Very eerie...
